At 22, Eric Drew found himself burned out as a professional musician and jumped on a plane to Tegucigalpa, Honduras where he lived and served as a missionary at God’s Littlest Lambs Orphanage for nearly 3 years. This experience transformed his faith and ignited his love of worship.
Since moving back to the United States, Eric has served as a worship leader and planner in congregations both large and small. He has engaged small groups, local churches, and gatherings of thousands of pastors and church leaders. He is passionate about worship believing it needs to reach the context of the community and offer all people a familiar voice and sound to praise God. As Director of Worship for the United Methodist Church of Greater New Jersey, he has the tremendous blessing to walk alongside congregations as they bring worship to life.
Eric’s first full-length project, The Center of it All, is the culmination of a year of songwriting and collaborations. It highlights both his passion for thoughtful, Wesleyan theology and new, modern sounds for worship. Eric’s hope is that it will be a resource for congregations using all kinds of contemporary expressions, connect with new generations of followers of Jesus, and ignite a movement of young songwriters and leaders.
